About the Artist
As a child, I oil painted, sewed, embroidered and doodled.I love multi-color complex designs with texture. These early interests have carried forward throughout my life in many forms of creativity.
As a result, Rug Hooking has represented a great mix of creativity for me, it has color, design, fabric and that relaxing quality that is found in most handwork. When I was a novice rug hooker sixteen years ago, I started out using one commercial pattern, but then moved on to designing my own patterns to suit my own style. Over time, many rug hooking pattern ideas began to pile up! After drawing patterns for myself and others, I was urged to share these patterns on a bigger scale. Rug Renaissance was born as a result. I wish I could hook them all, but I would need another lifetime or two.
Creativity is within us, it needs expression.
